During the summer, Field Trip pricing is reserved for groups with a minimum of 15 children. To receive Field Trip discounts, reservations must be made two weeks in advance of anticipated visit date, and paid in full prior to your visit date. Plus any applicable sales and use taxes. *Excludes full-length feature films.
Chaperones
One adult chaperone required for every 10 students and admitted to the Museum for free. Additional chaperones will be charged the fees in the chart above. To ensure the safety of all students, chaperones must stay with their group at all times.

Registration and Payments
Register by phone at 704.372.6261 x300 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Payment is required 3 weeks prior to program or visit date.
American Express, Discover, MasterCard and VISA are accepted. A check with your PO number written in the memo section is also accepted.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellation notice of three weeks is required for a full refund. Cancellations with less than three weeks’ notice are non-refundable but may be rescheduled for a visit within a 12-month period. There is no fee for rescheduling as long as the class or visit is rescheduled within one week of the cancellation date and the visit is completed within the 12 months of the originally scheduled date. Changes to the number of attendees must be made three days prior to the program or visit to receive a refund. No refunds will be issued the day of the visit, and no refunds will be issued for amounts of $10.00 or less.

Chaperones

Due to space limitations, extra chaperones will not be able to attend class programs, lab programs, workshops or Star Labs.

Parking
Cars and vans with clearance less than 7' 8" can park in the Discovery Place Science Parking Deck for an additional charge. Parking for larger vehicles is available at an off-site lot Monday - Friday.
Parking Rates
First Hour: FREE, 1 Hour +: $12.00, After 5:00 p.m.: $5.00
Rates repeat at 3:00 a.m.

Arrival Information
All buses should arrive at N Tryon St. Admissions. One teacher should exit the bus and will be greeted by a Discovery Place Science team member who will provide check-in directions. Please have students remain on the bus until directed to disembark.

Eligibility
To qualify for our subsidized field trip pricing, you must be a state-certified pre K-12 school and have a minimum of 15 students.
